As a sixth-generation circus performer, Rodrigo Gomez says he doesn’t feel fear when he performs his act on the double wheel in front of the crowd at Disney Springs. Gomez is one of the performers commanding the audience s attention and contributing to their rising blood pressure in Cirque du Soleil’s “Drawn to Life” show. One wrong move, one miscalculation, and the threat is real for Gomez and other performers dressed as owls while leaping on the double wheel in the act. “If you have fear, that s going to push you back,” Gomez told Florida Politics in a recent interview. “When I do the wheel, everything around me just disappears. It s like I m 100% focused on what I m doing, every step, every second. It s just like me and my partner and the wheel. … You re so concentrated that basically nothing s happening in your mind.
