June 17: Another Heat Advisory for South Florida as the heat index tops 108° today

It was a smoky start from wildfires burning just west of Doral in Miami-Dade County. Even ash reportedly was falling across Broward County overnight. The southerly winds will keep pushing this smoke in that same direction of western Broward.A Heat Advisory is in effect for the 3rd day in a row with a heat index up to 108° again today. We will have this heat for the rest of the week and into the weekend. A few showers and thunderstorms will develop late this afternoon to cool us down, but not everyone gets the rain. It will be very spotty. Higher chances for more widespread rains don’t move in until we get closer to the weekend.
