South Florida man faces attempted felony murder charge after lobster diving confrontation, deputies say

A South Florida man is in custody after deputies accused him of attempting to kill a diver during a dispute over a lobster diving spot in Biscayne Bay during Florida's two-day recreational lobster mini season.Michael Joseph Simpson, 51, surrendered to authorities Tuesday evening. He was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a charge of attempted felony murder, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.The incident occurred July 29, when investigators say Simpson's vessel approached another boat at a high rate of speed.
