Driver speaks out after her SUV crashes into a Hallandale Beach message business

A car crashed into the front of a South Florida building late Tuesday morning after the driver accidently hit the gas instead of the brake, according to police.According to the Hallandale Beach Police Department, officers responded to the 2500 block of East Hallandale Beach Boulevard around 11:15 a.m. to investigate reports that a vehicle crashed into the building.Police said that the preliminary investigation showed the driver accidently pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to slam into the front of the building.The driver, as well as everyone inside the building, were not injured.Members of the Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue responded to the scene to conduct a structural assessment. Officials said that the affected unit within the building has now been deemed unsafe for occupancy, while the remainder of the building was unaffected.Police said that the incident appears to have been an accident and there is no threat to public safety.
