The U.S. Coast Guard will offload more than $200 million worth of drugs at Port Everglades on Wednesday. According to the Coast Guard, the offload stems from six separate interdictions that resulted in the seizure of approximately 29,600 pounds of cocaine and 3,355 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $226.7 million. A news conference to discuss the Coast Guard’s drug interdiction efforts is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Port Everglades, where Vice Adm. Jo-Ann F. Burdian, Cmdr. Joshua M. DiPietro and Capt. Kent Reinhold are among the officials expected to speak.
